The victim, 70, was parking his blue Hyundai ix20 in a garage in Veronica Walk, Greenstead, at around 8.40am on Sunday (May 14) when a man approached him and asked the time.

After answering, the suspect began to walk away before suddenly turning back and jumping into the empty driver’s seat. He was joined by a second man who got into the passenger seat.

The victim challenged the pair and attempted to remove the keys from the ignition, but he was pushed away and told he would be stabbed before the suspects drove the car away.

It was later found in Hintlesham.

In an earlier incident, a 76 year old man saw two men in the The Centre car park on the estate, at around 8.35am.

One demanded his car keys and threatened to stab him, but the victim refused and got into his car and the suspects walked off.

No weapon was seen in either incident, which police are linking.

One of the suspects was white, of stocky build, aged in his 20s and about 5ft 8ins tall. He had short, light brown hair and wore a red Adidas jacket with white stripes down the arm.
