jeremy scott adidas Cast and crew reunite at SF Sketchfest panel

“It’s hard to realize how radical it was,” explains director John Landis, speaking at the 40th anniversary SF Sketchfest panel for his comedy classic “Animal House.” And he’s absolutely right the film essentially originated the college party subgenre and launched the careers of more than a few famous names, including Kevin Bacon, Harold Ramis, Karen Allen and Tim Matheson. It’s laden with scenes that, while not particularly ambitious to modern audiences (though nonetheless downright hilarious), rocked audiences in 1978.

John Landis was joined at the Sunday panel in the Castro Theatre by several of the film’s actors, including Tim Matheson (Eric “Otter” Stratton in the film), Bruce McGill (“D Day”), Mark Metcalf (Neidermeyer), Peter Riegert (“Boon”), Martha Smith (Babs) and James Widdoes (Hoover).

Following a screening of the film, they reminisced over favorite memories, including an actual fraternity party that certain actors attended as part of their initial bonding experience a party that, according to Matheson,
adidas terrex Cast and crew reunite at SF Sketchfest panel
ended with a few of the panelists getting the “shit kicked out of them.”

They humorously recalled a fiasco in finding a hairdresser and their eventual success using a local barber. When it came to creating the absurd hairstyle for Smith’s Babs, Landis had simply pointed to a picture he had and told the hairdresser to replicate it.

“What she did was much worse,” Landis explained. “And therefore, much better.”

It was similarly entertaining to hear just how adamantly Universal Pictures was against producing “Animal House.” As the cast and crew tells it, the “straight laced” studio scrutinized the film at every turn.

After all, “There’s a dildo in that movie!” Landis exclaimed, and the crew’s solution was to “put a ribbon on it” to make it more palatable. And when it came to the film’s notorious scene that takes place in an all Black bar, executives ran the movie by legendary comedian Richard Pryor for approval.

” ‘Animal House’ is fucking funny, and white people are crazy,” Pryor allegedly wrote back.

The studio continued to push against the film’s production right up until its previews, which were a smashing success.

It’s a pity, given how rich the history of the film’s creation appeared to be, that attendees didn’t hear too much from the actors present, as Landis tended to interrupt and dominate the conversation.

“These fucking actors!” he would jokingly say,
adidas terrex Cast and crew reunite at SF Sketchfest panel
hijacking his co panelists’ ridiculous stories each time and promising to tell the “real” story. Who knew he’d be an “Animal House” fan?.

adidas originals ciero Casson makes run for Congress as Independent

Thomas Casson is so serious about his Congressional run as an Independent, he legally changed his name to reflect his message. House District 3 seat on Friday.

“Currently, the House is really broken,” Casson said. “Republicans and Democrats are fussing and feuding on various issues, and there’s not anything that is bridging that gap. So I just think it’s very important that we give voters options.”

To get his name on the ballot, Casson must secure signatures from 5,000 voters in the 3rd Congressional District, a process he is working on now.

“It’s going to be a completely grassroots effort,” he explained. “The state does not make it easy to collect signatures. You cannot use online signatures. They have to be pen and paper signatures. So I will be going door to door.

“Polls show that 90 percent, or even higher in some polls, do not like Congress,” Casson said. “At this point, there is a gap in credibility. Nobody trusts Congress, and they shouldn’t, based on the results of $20 trillion in debt. It just makes no sense. So until we bridge that gap, it really doesn’t matter what Congress does. Because nobody believes them,

nobody trusts them, and nobody respects them.”

Casson ran for Congress as a Republican in 2014, but opted to run independently this year. The Auburn University alum also served on Bob Riley’s Congressional staff from 1997 to 2000.

‘Ideas and changes’

Casson says one issue that repeatedly comes up in conversation is the national debt.

“Normal people have to live under a budget,” he said. “You can’t forever spend what you take in. It’s not possible. The government, on the other hand, has shown us that they can. The current debt is $20 trillion, so I think that’s a huge issue. Even bigger than that, we’re taking in $4 trillion a year and spending more than that every year.”

Casson supports term limits in Congress and believes members should vote from their home districts.

“I think we need to question everything that Washington does, from top to bottom,” he said. “A great step would be to get those Congressmen out of Washington. () Those people certainly would see the constituents more often, and the constituents can give them input as to whether their vote was a good one or a bad one.”

Casson said the voters of the district were smart not to elect him in 2014, as he says “I’m not sure that Washington was quite ready for some of the ideas and changes that I’ve got.”

Now, though, he believes it’s time for an Independent to represent his home district.

“I just don’t think that there are many people who are challenging the status quo, and I’m pretty good at that,” he said. “That’s why I think I’m right for the seat now.”

new adidas predators Casper doctor found guilty of sexually assaulting patients

People began to gasp. Some murmured in approval as the clerk announced the verdict for the next charge: guilty.

After deliberating for six hours, jurors found the one time Casper gynecologist guilty of assaulting two patients during medical exams. They acquitted him of six other charges.

Judge Thomas Sullins ordered Harnetty into custody, saying he thought the doctor might try to flee or could pose a danger to the community if he were to remain free on bond.

“I can sleep tonight,” said one of the women who testified against Harnetty during the five day trial.

A total of six female patients testified this week that Harnetty touched them during physical examinations in ways that were unusual and made them feel uncomfortable. The women said that Harnetty’s exams were different from those they had experienced by other doctors. Some women said he touched their genitals without gloves while others said he rubbed them in ways that didn’t seem to be part of a medical exam.

Prosecutor Kevin Taheri said he did not yet know what sentence his office will seek for Harnetty.

“It was a tough job for the jury,” the prosecutor said. “We think they thought hard about it.”

Defense Attorney Don Fuller said he thought the case hadn’t been properly charged. Prosecutors should have charged Harnetty under a Wyoming law that specifically names doctors and would have provided him the opportunity to make a medical defense, Fuller said.

Harnetty’s legal team will be appealing the case, Fuller said.

“We won’t be satisfied until the remaining two counts are discharged by the supreme court,” he said.

One woman, who had previously been in a consensual relationship with Harnetty and whose testimony resulted in a second degree sexual assault conviction, said: “Just because somebody says yes once, doesn’t mean (they say) yes forever.”

In Friday’s closing arguments, prosecutor Kevin Taheri said Harnetty abused his power in order to assault the women.

“Every woman in this case allowed him to put his hands where he did because he was a doctor,” Taheri said.

An expert witness for the defense was biased in her testimony that the women’s initial reports to law enforcement might be indicative of typical medical examinations, the prosecutor told jurors. Taheri also said the initial disclosures did not fully describe Harnetty’s actions, citing a psychologist’s testimony that disclosure of sexual assault is often a process.

The prosecutor said an allegation of a previous consensual relationship with a patient and two more allegations of not using gloves during exams indicated that the doctor was sexually motivated during the incidents described by alleged victims in the case.

After Taheri’s argument, defense attorney Don Fuller told jurors that the law Harnetty was charged under was intended to be used to convict teachers and custodians, not doctors.

Fuller admitted that his client had acted improperly by engaging in a consensual relationship with a patient. He, however, denied criminal conduct and asked jurors to protect Harnetty from being convicted on charges that he characterized as unproven.

“Your job here isn’t to like Dr. Paul Harnetty,” the defense attorney said. “You all swore an oath to protect him.”

After Fuller sat down, Taheri spoke once more, saying he would call on jurors to find a conviction on all eight counts in the case.

“Find the truth. Come out of that jury room. And tell it,” the prosecutor said.

Harnetty is no longer licensed to practice medicine in Wyoming, having voluntarily relinquished his Wyoming physician license in October 2016, after the state medical board began an investigation against him for wrongful practice.

sl 72 adidas Casper College forward makes most of second chance

“Guys that are Remi’s size that can do the things he does on the court don’t grow on trees,” Casper College coach Joel Davidson said. “He’s definitely a unique talent.

“Remi is as competitive as anybody I’ve ever been around. He’s his own harshest critic and sometimes that’s read wrong, but that’s just because he wants to win.”

He had 28 points and a career high 15 rebounds in a 97 88 triple overtime victory at Laramie County Community College on Nov. 6. In a 95 74 rout of Western Nebraska Community College on Nov. 27, Dibo had six 3 pointers in the first half and finished with a career high 31 points in just 25 minutes.

“Remi is a real confident player, and he’s a different player,” Casper College freshman Richard Smith said. “He’s versatile and he’s hard to guard . he brings a lot to the table and he makes us a better team.”

The 2008 adidas Nations Camp brought together about 100 of the top 18 and under players from around the world. Dibo, who was born in the Ivory Coast, played on Team Africa. It was at the camp where Dibo first questioned his abilities.

“I ain’t gonna lie,” he said, “after the adidas Nations Camp, I really had questions about my game.

“When I played in France, I played [power forward], and I was faster than everybody else. And then at the camp, I was playing [small forward], and guys were as athletic as I was or even more athletic.”

Rather than be discouraged, Dibo re dedicated himself to the game. He was on the court two hours every morning before class and again as soon as the school day was finished.

“I worked harder than I ever had before,” he said. “The camp made me a better basketball player.”

Dibo played his junior season at Stoneridge Prep (Simi Valley, Calif.) and his senior year at West Virginia’s Mountain State Academy. There, Dibo gained some national recognition when he helped Mountain State beat top ranked Oak Hill Academy in the semifinals of the ESPN Rise National High School Basketball Invitational.

Dibo’s game improved to the point that top level Division I programs began recruiting him.

In 2009 Dibo was set to sign with the University of Kentucky a team that would reach the East Regional final of the 2010 NCAA tournament before he was dealt a setback.

Terrence Jones, who had originally committed to play at the University of Washington, instead signed with Kentucky, taking what was essentially Dibo’s scholarship.

Dibo,
adidas trainers cheap Casper College forward makes most of second chance
however, refused to blame Jones or UK for missing an opportunity to play for a national power.

“When I made my decision to [play at] Kentucky, I was too late; it was past the signing period,” Dibo said. “I learned from that that you’ve got to be the best you can be at any moment and nobody will take your spot.

“I also found out that school is really important. At the end of my senior year, my grades were bad and that’s when some schools started stepping down.”

While other programs continued to recruit Dibo, one of his former coaches in France thought Dibo would be best served at Casper College. The coach had sent former players to Davidson when he was the head coach at Sheridan College, and thought Dibo would benefit from Davidson’s defense first, no nonsense coaching style.

Davidson, now at Casper College, was happy to oblige.

“I didn’t even recruit Remi,” Davidson said. “It was just on prior experience that he ended up here. It kind of falls under the category that if you treat people right, good things will happen.”

“Because of that he’s got a lot of interest from a wide range of schools. Remi wants to play at the highest level because he wants the biggest challenge.”

Dibo is expected to get that opportunity. Currently, schools such as Oklahoma State, Clemson, Kansas State and Wyoming are showing interest.

So while Dibo’s path to DI basketball took a detour through Casper College, he doesn’t regret one step along the way.

“I’ve learned that at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter where you were before,” he said, “because we’re all here now and we’ve all got to work for that spot. Even if I’m in Casper, Wyoming, and not at Kentucky,
adidas trainers cheap Casper College forward makes most of second chance
I still have to work for my position on the court every day.”

adidas astro trainers Casper church hosts ‘Night to Shine Prom’ for people with special needs

Barbara Flinn is the special needs coordinator at Highland Park Community Church. on Feb. 9, at the church. Flinn said she has all of the volunteers she needs, and everything is paid for, so now she is trying to spread the word that all people with special needs, ages 14 and older, are welcome to attend at no cost.

What is the special needs ministry at the church? We basically recruit volunteers and oversee the ministry and make sure we have buddies who go with each of our participants to the designated areas, whether it’s the children’s area or the high school area or the adult area, we have buddies for each of them, and mainstream them into their area of the church.

How did HPCC become involved with Night to Shine? We just applied for it. We want to love on people, Pastor Mike feels it is a calling, and we just wanted to get involved. The Tim Tebow Foundation is a fabulous organization, so well run. This is our first year with them, it’s year four of Night to Shine, so it’s still relatively new and there are over 500 churches participating this year. Every prom is on Feb. 9, the foundation picks the day. It’s close to Valentine’s Day and they want us to take the love off ourselves and put it toward God.

And there is a separate but companion project to outfit your guests? There are great people who are case managers in the special needs community locally and they have organized “Glass Slipper,” on Saturday, Jan. If people have dresses, suits, shoes, anything they would like to donate that our guests could wear, they can take them to 400 E. 1st St., Ste. 203 before Jan. 27, or call Nikki Green at 277 3157.

You like to have more guests? We want to invite all to be our guests, 14 and over with special needs. We send them a guest registration form. Each guest will arrive on a red carpet, receive a corsage or boutonniere, there is a hair and makeup station for touch ups, shoe shine for the guys. They take limo rides around the parking lot to give them the feeling of what it is to arrive in limo, there is a photo booth and there will be prom pictures, each guest will be crowned king or queen and they will leave with prom favors.

How has the response been? We’re pretty well set on the volunteers and they suggest 24 different volunteer committees. We have been so blessed. The outpouring in really just about a month has been amazing. Casper Legion Baseball, Casper Crush, the University of North Dakota occupational therapy group, the volunteers are coming in from everywhere. We’re all just really excited.

Do you need monetary donations? We’ve pretty much got everything covered. Tim Tebow Foundation writes a manual for the night, they even give us the menu. Eggington’s has offered to donate all of the food and this is a full catered dinner.

Is this the only Night to Shine in Wyoming? Riverton, Cheyenne and Laramie are also doing it. We absolutely expect to be involved beyond this year. God has lent his hand in this so much, I can’t imagine it not being a huge success. retro jordans He nike clearance turned beats headphones on sale out i air max would nike shoes say nike air max some nike roshe sort nike roshe of nike shoes for women caring beats by dre wireless child jordans for women on to nike clearance assist jordans for sale you air max 1 Karen as christian louboutin outlet well nike outlet as nike boots the frederick Mattioli; Michael Kors Bags Outlet Nurturing cheap beats headphones middle aged nike shoes for men sibling from nike air max their cheap beats particular air max two beats earbuds siblings, Michael Kors On Sale Lindsey beats by dre sale improved air max 95 Mattioli, In addition, Kyla christian louboutin shoes Mattioli nike shoes for women Gali nike roshe run buddy nike roshe having legal nike shoes requirements, Daniel; Good nike roshe run granddad from Adidas Yeezy 350 Boost Kai Michael Kors Jet Set Bag Lennon; beats by dre studio Passionate air max son nike air max 90 from nike air max 2017 your womens nike air max the moncler jacket later moncler men part of moncler jacket chris and Verna mens nike air max Mattioli, nike air max 95 Plus Rosetta jordan 11 edward air max cullen jordans for cheap Lynch. adidas originals tracksuit Casey Matthews knows ribbing will come with Packers brother

Matthews, who plays linebacker for the Eagles, suggested this week that sibling Clay Matthews didn want to switch to middle linebacker for the Green Bay Packers. Big brother cleared up the confusion tersely with a reporter in Green Bay.

meant he preferred to play outside over inside, Casey Matthews said with a grin. think that got blown up a little bit. Things get lost in translation. Casey Matthews is considering a preemptive strike. When Clay makes a bee line toward him, Casey might say something along the lines of, bro, what up with you being unhappy about moving inside? 11px;

Whatever the exchange, Casey will walk away smiling. So, too, will Clay, although that likely would have to be confirmed through a source. Clay, for all his fame and commercial fortune, is a protective big brother who filters compliments through intermediaries.

won ever tell me to my face, Casey said with a smile. not like Clay. But I hear him talking to other people. He proud. I sure he is. I proud of him. Every chance I get to watch him, I do. I enjoy watching him. I look up to him and I try to be like him as a player and as a person.

Eagles tight end Brent Celek, among five Eagles with siblings currently playing in the NFL, put it best.

Clay and Casey are the sons of Clay Matthews, who played 19 seasons at linebacker in the NFL. Pro Football Hall of fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews, the brother of retired Clay, is the father of Jake and Kevin. Bruce played 19 years.

Those Matthews family dinners around the holidays, Casey Matthews wife confirmed, are conversational about almost everything but football. Video game debates are quite popular. Comparisons are for outsiders.

Casey wishes he had a dime for each time he was compared to Clay, who typically is a rush outside linebacker.

In the approximately one year period since the incident involving child molestation by a former coach at Penn State University (PSU) came to light, the lessons for those of us in higher education have been many. In this month’s newsletter we link a story detailing the indictment of PSU’s former President which serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities that come with leadership. Someone recently made the comment that because of this and other visible scandals in recent years that ”higher education has lost the benefit of the doubt.” While that statement can certainly be debated, there is little doubt that the pressures for institutional transparency, ethics, and accountability have never been greater in our industry.

One way that you can strengthen your leadership culture is to ensure that you routinely communicate the need for everyone to report potential regulatory, policy, or ethical concerns to their supervisor or through the anonymous reporting system that allows for confidential reporting. The benefits of proactively addressing a situation far outweigh the costs of ignoring them or remaining silent. As you survey this month’s events in our industry, we again suggest that you proactively think of high risks in your area of responsibility that may need proactive management.

adidas superstars Carton bring national attention to MAC

Bettendorf junior DJ Carton has made a couple unofficial recruiting visits to Iowa City in recent months. In doing so, he has crossed paths and had multiple conversations with Wieskamp.

“I’m in his ear a decent amount trying to get him to join us,” Wieskamp admitted. “I’m trying to let him enjoy the recruiting process and do his own thing, but at the same time I’m letting him know we want him pretty bad.”

The MAC has produced several Division I basketball players in recent years Nicholas Baer, Cortez Seales, Marlon Stewart and Brady Ernst but none of them have generated the national buzz Wieskamp and Carton have.

For the first time since Rivals started its rankings system in 2003, the MAC has two four star recruits and two players listed in the nation’s top 75.

Wieskamp, a 6 foot 6 wing, is 40th overall in the 2018 class. Carton, a 6 2 point guard, is 70th in the 2019 class.

They have brought additional exposure and publicity to the conference. They are certain to bring more spectators to MAC gymnasiums this winter.

“Absolutely,” Bettendorf coach Curtis Clark said. “When you have two kids like that on a national level, the general basketball fan wants to come out and see how good they really are. It is special, not something you witness every day.”

Davenport West coach Mark Bigler remembers a similar situation when he coached former Hawkeye and NBA player Ryan Bowen at Fort Madison.

“We filled our gym up because he was going to Iowa,” Bigler said. “That’s what Muscatine is going to experience. And depending on where (Carton) commits, you’ll have Wisconsin, Illinois or Iowa fans looking him up.

“It is nice because it allows them to see other kids in our league. It creates a more exciting atmosphere for the kids, and it already is pretty good.”

Assumption graduate Ed Conroy is an assistant coach at Minnesota recruiting Carton. Because of his schedule in the past, as a head coach at Tulane and The Citadel, he’s never attended the annual bi state Genesis Shootout in mid December. He plans to make the trek Dec. 16. play, and he was really excited about having the opportunity to come for the Shootout,” Clark said.

Besides excitement in the stands, it invigorates opposing players in the conference to be at their best when they match up with Wieskamp or Carton.

“When you have a group of kids that are a little more blue collar like our group, there is pride in that,” Pleasant Valley coach Steve Hillman said. “We’re not a team that has any Division I players or individuals that people are going to specifically come watch, so our kids get fired up for those opportunities to play against those really good players.”

Wieskamp sparks a communityMuscatine coach Gary Belger describes Wieskamp as a throwback.

“He’s like a player from the 1970s or 1980s,” Belger said. “He has great talent, a marvelous mind and a totally unselfish attitude.”

Wieskamp has been front and center of Muscatine’s program since he walked through the doors as a freshman.

He averaged 18.6 points and more than 6 rebounds per game for what was a 7 15 team.

The production has improved each year 21.6 points as a sophomore and a state leading 30.4 points last year. Muscatine has won 15 games each of the past two winters, and he was named Iowa’s Gatorade Player of the Year last season.

In Friday’s season opener at Washington, he registered 37 points in three quarters.

“Wieskamp is as good of a high school player as our program has ever faced,” Hillman said.

It has brought attention to Muscatine, a school with minimal basketball tradition.

“Having a kid come out of Muscatine like this, one of Iowa’s highest recruits ever, is crazy,” teammate Jackson Foulk said. “Being a one high school town, it really gives the community a lot to rally behind with a player of this magnitude.”

Wieskamp broke the school’s all time scoring record early in his junior season. He’s 10 points from surpassing Ricky Davis (1,619 points) as the league’s career scoring leader and could chase down Jeff Horner’s total of 2,194 points as the all time scoring leader in Iowa Class 4A.

“I never thought any of this would happen,” Wieskamp said. “I didn’t even think about anything like that and those kind of records. I wanted to go play.

“As the years have gone on, those things have popped up.”

Wieskamp, who had 50 points in a game last season, shot better than 56 percent from the field and 41 percent from the 3 point line last year.

TROY >> Preparing to play the Birmingham Groves varsity girls basketball team can be a difficult chore for any team. Troy found that out, firsthand, Thursday night on its home court.

The Falcons full court pressure and tall, athletic lineup proved too much for the Colts to handle, as Groves led from start to finish in a 62 46 victory which kept the team within a game of first place Royal Oak in the OAA White.

speed, athleticism and length gave us fits early on in the game, said Troy head coach Simon Bato, who team trailed 15 2 after one quarter of play. came out and hit us in the mouth, so to speak. We let Sha (Carter) hurt us a little bit. Defensively, she a tough player and she was able to turn some of our turnovers into points. TROY

From the opening tip, Carter was a thorn in the side of the Colts. The senior scored seven of her game high 27 points in the opening quarter and helped get her teammates Jasmine Worthy and Ellie Ruprich into the game by setting them up with easy layups. Carter scoring was balanced out throughout the game, with 14 coming in the first half and 13 in the second.

giving us what we need when we need it, Groves head coach Jessica Wieseler said.

Wieseler rotated girls in and out of the lineup, allowing her team to pressure the Colts early and often. Even when Troy was able to break the press and bring the ball into its halfcourt set, Groves length disrupted the flow of the Colts offense, oftentimes blocking shots or shrinking the passing lanes.

just got to work on, as we make those rotations and as we get new groups in the game, keeping that pressure up, Wieseler said.

Troy made a push in the fourth quarter, at one point cutting Groves lead to 11 points at 57 46. But a 3 pointer by junior Emilie Felax and an inside hoop by Carter helped extend the Falcons lead and keep the Colts at bay.

Junior Emily Olson led Troy with 17 points and sophomore Athena Samson added 12 in the loss, which is the third straight for the Colts (2 4 OAA White, 5 6 overall).

Groves improved to 9 2 overall and has now won six straight. The Falcons are 5 1 in OAA White play, a game behind Royal Oak (5 0) in the loss column. Groves will host Oxford next Tuesday before welcoming in the Ravens Thursday for a rematch of the two teams first game back in December. Royal Oak won that game,
